Woodside Places to Go

here are some fun things to do in Woodside

Thomas Fogerty Winery (Wine Tasting) This winery offers spectacular views from its tasting room higho n the hill.

Alice’s Restaurant (Food) Alice’s is popular with the road biker and motorcyclist crowd. The building was originally constructed in the early 1900s as a general store to support the logging industry.

Kings Mountain Archers (Sports) This archer organization operates in Huddart Park and offers free moonthly lessons to the public

Huddart Park. (Nature/Outdoors) This park offers numerous hiking trails and campsites.

Wunderlich Park (Nature/Outdoors) There are some great hiking trails here. For a mini hike head to the Salamander Pond. For those headed to the top of the ridge you can walk across the street at the top and take a break at Alice’s over lunch.

La Honda Open Space Preserve (Nature/Outdoors) Recently opened in 2017, this offers immersion into a historic ranchland with grazing cattle, views of the San Mateo County Coast and Santa Cruz Mountains. It is also a great place to get a glimpse of the house where Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters lived.

Filoli (Garden, History) In general I think of Filoli as a lovely garden space but you can also tour its historic house and enjoy its events. I love the decorated house with garden lights and firepits in December. Most recently Xi and Biden met here in 2023

Woodside Store (History) This museum was the general store in the area, serving mainly lumbermen in the 1800s. It is now stocked with period items and operates as a museum. In May there is a special Woodside Store day.
