San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (History) FREE offers visitors the sights, sounds, smells and stories of Pacific Coast maritime history. The Park includes a magnificent fleet of historic ships, a Visitor Center, Maritime Museum, Maritime Research Center.

Museum of Crafts and Design (Art)

Asian Art Museum (Art) As the name says, this museum is all about Asian Art. It is steps away from City Hall, Opera House, The Library and the Orpheum so make it a double header and pack 2 events into one day.

Mosaic Staircases (Art) Get in a good hike while enjoying these tiled jewel art pieces, most funded collectively by the neighborhoods.

Mission District Murals (Art) Throughout the neighborhood, hundreds of walls and fences are adorned with colorful works of art featuring themes ranging from cultural heritage to social-political statements

Diego Rivera Frescos (Art) It is a little known fact that Diego lived for some time in San Francisco. During his return in 1940 he created this artwork for the Golden Gate International Exposition.

Museum of the Eye (Science) the world’s only free, public museum dedicated to the fascinating science of sight.

Exploratorium (Science) This is a great place to enjoy the waterfront while exploring interactive science exhibits. Your best best is a After Dark Thursday nights for the age 18+ set.

Contemporary Jewish Museum (Misc) features rotating, thought-provoking exhibits on the art, culture, and history of the Jewish community. 

Church of 8 Wheels (Misc. Entertainment) This roller rink used to be a church and is a unique venue for fun roller staking for all ages.

Omnivore Books (Unique Shopping) This is a fun place to browse for the hottest new cookbook and vintage ones alike. For a fun time, attend one of their cookbook author live events.

STUFF (Unique Shopping) This is very unique collective store featuring mid centurey modern and vintage “stuff”.

Chinese Temple (Misc. Entertainment)
